✹ CREATIVE SPACE ASSISTANT, summer semester 2024

Role — Creative Space Assistant (The University of Texas at Austin’s Work-Study Program, Part-Time)

  • $15 per hour at 15 to 19 hours per week

  • This role is designed for work-study students at The University of Texas at Austin and the time commitment range can be adjusted to meet any course credit hourly requirements.

  • Semesterly professional development opportunity, semesterly self-care stipend and complimentary Future Front one-year membership

LOCATION: AUSTIN, TEXAS

START DATE: JUNE 2024

Role Description —

The Creative Space Assistant collaborates directly with Future Front’s team to support communications and storytelling at the organization’s headquarters and East Austin community space. Working at least two days in office per week, this positions’s day-to-day tasks and roles include supporting and studying communications around Future Front’s four core programs, like:

  • Assisting with facility tasks, inventory management and welcoming visitors at The Future Front House (75% of role)

  • Developing interviews and storytelling materials around Future Front as an organization, as well as its program participants

  • Supporting communications tasks around Future Front’s donor, member, visitor, program participant and volunteer coordination

  • Learning from Future Front team members and Future Front’s community onsite at two events per month

Role Requirements —

This role requires at least 12 to 15 hours in office per week at Future Front Texas’ headquarters at 1900 E. 12th St. 78702 or partner venues in Central and East Austin. Only for students in UT's Work-Study program. No previous experience is required.

Role — Student Fellowship (Part-Time)

  • $2,340 per semester, $15 per hour at 12 hours per week

    • This fellowship is intended for active students working toward course credit and the time commitment range can be adjusted to meet any course credit hourly requirements.

  • 4 paid days off per semester

  • Semesterly professional development opportunity, semesterly self-care stipend and complimentary Future Front one-year membership

LOCATION: AUSTIN, TEXAS

START DATE: SEPTEMBER 2024

Role Description —

The Communications Fellow collaborates directly with Future Front’s team to support communications and storytelling at the organization’s headquarters in Austin, Texas.

Working at least two days in office per week, this positions’s day-to-day tasks and roles include supporting and studying communications around Future Front’s four core programs, like:

  • Attending weekly planning meetings and quarterly Future Front visioning meetings

  • Assisting with tasks around Future Front’s facilities and studio membership

  • Developing interviews and storytelling materials around Future Front as an organization, as well as its program participants

  • Communicating with program participants, team members and volunteers around program statuses, updates and next steps to ensure inclusive and collaborative communication

  • Supporting communications tasks around Future Front’s donor, member and volunteer coordination

  • Learning from Future Front team members and Future Front’s community onsite at two events per month

  • Pitching and completing one quarterly storytelling project for the candidate’s portfolio / body of work

Role Requirements —

This role requires five to eight hours in office per week at Future Front Texas’ headquarters or partner venues in Central and East Austin. Intended for students pursuing an area of study in communications. No previous experience is required.
